WHY
WHY
The United Nations defined sustainability as “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” It’s a simple concept, but we’re rapidly depleting the planet of the resources and services we all rely on. The world we’ve created has brought unprecedented advancement, safety, and comfort to billions of people. However, the built environment is also a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions and resource depletion. Luckily, we already have the technology and know how to significantly reduce, if not completely eliminate, these side effects of progress. It’s essential we put these solutions into widespread practice now while we still have time to make a massive difference in the future of our planet and the lives of everyone who calls it home.
